    Bring us your requisition — or read it to us over the phone — and we’ll collect the specimen at your location and deliver it to the laboratory your doctor designated. Labcorp, Quest, or wherever your order routes.

    Results go back to your ordering provider through their normal channel, exactly as if you’d gone to the lab yourself. Your doctor sees them on the same timeline.

    Don’t have the paper order? Many practices send orders electronically. Call us with your doctor’s name and we can usually sort it out.

  • For patients whose physician has ordered therapeutic blood removal — most often hereditary hemochromatosis, polycythemia vera, or porphyria cutanea tarda.

    We’re honest with kids about what’s happening — no “this won’t hurt” when it will pinch. We work fast, we explain what we’re doing, and we don’t make it a battle.

    Geriatric & Fragile-Vein Patients

    Thin skin, fragile veins, and blood thinners all change how a draw should be done. We adjust technique, use appropriate tourniquets and gauges, and take the extra time to hold pressure properly afterward so bruising is minimized.

    This is a large part of what we do. We’re comfortable with it.

    Needle Anxiety

    Tell us before we arrive. Not during.

    We’ll go slower, talk you through each step or not talk at all — your preference — let you lie down, and stop if you need a minute. Nobody is going to sigh, check a clock, or make you feel unreasonable.

How It Works

2. We Confirm a Window

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. Evening and weekend slots exist for people who work standard hours. You get an arrival window, not “sometime Tuesday.” If we’re running behind, you get a phone call — not silence. Fasting requirements are explained at booking, and we’ll schedule you early so you’re not fasting all day waiting on us.

3. We Arrive

Everything comes with us: supplies, tubes, labels, sharps container, temperature-controlled transport, and paperwork. We verify your ID, confirm what’s being drawn, and get set up wherever you’re comfortable — kitchen table, couch, recliner, bedside. All we need is decent light and somewhere for your arm to rest.

4. The Draw

About four minutes. Fifteen from knock to goodbye, including paperwork and aftercare. Tubes are labeled in front of you, sealed, and placed in transport immediately.

5. Same-Day Delivery to the Lab

We deliver directly. Your specimen doesn’t sit in a vehicle overnight or wait for a courier pickup the next morning — which matters, because some analytes degrade.

6. Results

Results go to your ordering provider through their normal channel, on the same timeline as if you’d gone to the lab. We don’t hold or release physician-ordered results directly; your doctor does.

Our fees cover the collection and transport only.

The laboratory bills separately for analyzing your blood — usually through your insurance, exactly as it would if you’d walked into their draw site. Your insurance handles the lab work the same way either way.

What insurance generally does not cover is the convenience of us coming to you. That’s our fee, and it’s self-pay.

How much does an at-home blood draw cost?

$65 for the draw, plus a travel fee of $35 to $75 depending on your distance from our office. Same-day, evening, weekend, and holiday appointments carry an additional fee. All rates are published above. The laboratory bills separately for the analysis, usually through your insurance.

Does insurance cover a mobile blood draw?

The laboratory analysis is typically billed to your insurance exactly as it would be at a draw site. Our collection and travel fees are self-pay — insurance generally doesn’t reimburse for mobile convenience. We’ll tell you what you owe before we schedule.

Do I need a doctor’s order?

  • Some tests require it — typically 8–12 hours for lipid panels and fasting glucose. We’ll tell you at booking and schedule you early so you’re not fasting all day.

  • Yes, and please tell us when you book rather than when we arrive. We’ll take more time, let you lie down, talk you through it or stay quiet — whatever works for you. This is common and we handle it routinely.

  • Tell us that too. We come prepared with butterfly needles and smaller gauges, and we schedule extra time. Most difficult draws are a technique and patience issue, not an anatomy issue.

  • Yes. Children generally do much better in familiar surroundings with a parent nearby.

  • Yes — at their home, or at their assisted living or nursing facility. If they’re in a facility, call us and we’ll sort out whether it’s a private appointment or something we arrange with the facility.

  • Yes, with a physician’s order specifying volume and frequency. We can be your ongoing collection site so you’re not going to a hospital outpatient department every few weeks.

  • No. We perform peripheral venipuncture only. Central line access requires nursing scope and should be handled by your home health nurse or infusion provider.

  • Same-day appointments are frequently available. Next-day almost always. Call and we’ll tell you what’s open.

  • It goes directly to the laboratory the same day, in temperature-controlled transport. It doesn’t sit overnight or wait for a courier.
